About the Role:
Client is a Renewables IPP backed by a Global Sustainable Investment Manager. This is a critical hire to join its growing Development team and lead the development of Solar and Energy Storage projects across CAISO. The role reports to the Chief Development Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
Senior Director of Project Development will be responsible for the development of utility scale battery storage projects across the California Independent System Operator (CAISO) market and drive the development of existing pipeline, new greenfield development, and project acquisition.
Senior Director of Project Development will be responsible for managing and supporting permitting, site control, interconnection matters, power marketing, design/ Engineering, Procurement, Construction (EPC), financing and other matters critical to the development of energy storage projects throughout CAISO.
Senior Director of Project Development will be responsible for managing and analyzing the information flow relevant to project development from internal subject matter experts and external consultants/vendors.
Key Requirements:
10+ years of project development experience, and the last 2+ years in energy storage preferably with experience in CAISO in project management, permitting, offtake negotiation, interconnection, planning, real estate, and other matters critical to development.
Demonstrated success and experience developing utility scale energy storage and/or renewable energy projects, within CAISO. Familiarity with relevant state, county and city codes, procedures and regulations required by local planning and building departments in CAISO.
Experience preparing, negotiating, and closing commercial agreements including development agreements, site control agreements, consulting and service agreements, interconnection, and power sales agreements, etc.
Bachelor Degree in Business, Construction, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Science, Management, or another Analytical field required.
