Location: Tokyo, Japan



About the Role


We are working with a global renewable energy developer which is focusing on the Japanese Renewable Energy Sector and are seeking a Project Management Officer to join their growing team in Japan.

Responsibilities



1. Project Planning and Management

  • Develop detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, costs, resources, and risks.
  • Work with Business Development on project permitting.
  • Select and negotiate with EPC contractors.


2. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Gather requirements and communicate project goals to stakeholders.
  • Hold regular progress meetings.
  • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction.


3. Resource Management

  • Allocate personnel, equipment, and materials effectively.
  • Manage project teams and monitor performance.


4. Budget and Cost Control

  • Develop and manage budgets.
  • Track expenses and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Prepare financial reports.


5. Risk Management

  • Identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Implement contingency plans.


6. Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct quality audits and implement corrective actions.


7. Reporting and Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Provide regular updates to management and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's in Engineering, Project Management, Renewable Energy, or related field; master's or PMP preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years in project management, with 3+ years in solar or renewable energy projects.
  • Skills: Electrical or Civil Engineering qualification preferred.

Skills

  • Strong project management and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of solar energy systems and industry standards.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and environmental standards for solar projects.
  • Proficient in English.
