About the Role
We are working with an exciting renewable & clean energy startup company which is focused on green hydrogen and ammonia in Japan / APAC and are seeking a Business Development (Senior Manager) to build their supply value chain in the region.
Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities aligned with the Company's business model, collaborating with local and international business development teams.
- Assist in formulating market strategies and long-term business plans to execute the Company's vision effectively.
- Cultivate partnerships, alliances, and relationships with stakeholders including suppliers, customers, advisors, and government officials to foster business growth.
- Prepare, coordinate, and negotiate commercial contracts and agreements to support business development initiatives, including assistance to Project Development teams in Japan and Directors abroad.
- Contribute to regional business development efforts in Asia by integrating negotiations, conducting market analyses, and performing due diligence to meet project requirements.
- Support Business Analysts in developing business models, conducting scenario analyses, and engaging with government entities for subsidies and incentives.
- Maintain management reports and internal updates, collaborating with professionals to consolidate and harmonize information for effective business management.
- Enhance the company's market presence by leveraging existing networks and participating in sector events and opportunities.
- Stay abreast of new developments, regulations, and policies in the local hydrogen and ammonia operations to inform business planning and development.
Requirements
- Legal residency and physical presence in the greater Tokyo area are required.
- Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, business management, engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum 3-5 years of solid expertise in the renewable energy industry, with experience in hydrogen or ammonia supply chain, green infrastructure development, or related sectors.
- Demonstrated proficiency in commercial/business management and negotiation skills, with strong command of Excel, PowerPoint, and other business tools.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building abilities in a multicultural environment.
- Knowledge in finance, accounting, and/or basic engineering is preferable.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating resilience and flexibility.
- Native proficiency in Japanese and business-level proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally, if required.
