About the role

We are partnering with a fast-growing product company seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer. As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing our infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and various development tools. You will drive key technical decisions to improve automation, scalability, and system reliability. Additionally, you will mentor team members, advocate for best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding developer experiences.


Roles and responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable, reliable infrastructure on AWS
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Assist the engineering team in utilizing AWS for their technical solutions
• Address infrastructure requests from engineering and data teams
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Automate repetitive tasks and processes to boost operational efficiency
• Implement security best practices to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
• Analyze system performance, making optimizations to improve speed, reliability, and scalability
• Respond promptly to infrastructure and deployment incidents (on-call shifts required)
• Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and implement preventive measures
• Create and maintain comprehensive system documentation
• Monitor and manage cloud and infrastructure costs, analyzing usage patterns and recommending cost-effective solutions without sacrificing performance

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a DevOps engineer, with at least 2 years working with AWS
• Strong expertise in cloud infrastructure
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, ECS, EKS); Kubernetes knowledge is not required
• Practical experience using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CDK, CloudFormation, etc.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts (HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, Routing)
• Familiarity with security tools and practices, including WAF, Security Groups, and vulnerability scans
• Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus + Grafana, New Relic, Datadog, PagerDuty, etc.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Perl, Bash, Go)
• Hands-on experience with managing and configuring databases, with a preference for PostgreSQL
