About the role
We are partnering with a fast-growing product company seeking a Lead Platform Engineer. As a Lead Platform Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving the architectural direction, hands-on development, and automation of our cloud platforms. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer with expertise in multi-cloud environments, development, and DevOps practices, who thrives in both architectural leadership and hands-on execution.
Roles and responsibilities
- Design & Implement Cloud Infrastructure: Lead the creation of scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud systems with a focus on availability and cost optimization.
- Hands-On Development & Automation: Write code, deploy applications, and automate platform infrastructure for optimization.
- IaC Adoption: Drive the use of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and CDK to automate cloud provisioning and ensure consistency.
- Log Server Optimization: Improve and scale log server architecture across platforms for better observability and troubleshooting.
- CI/CD Pipeline Optimization: Streamline CI/CD pipelines to accelerate releases with automated, consistent deployment processes.
- Collaboration on Cloud Strategy: Work with tech leads to shape long-term cloud architecture, infrastructure, and resolve challenges in scalability, security, and performance.
- Increase Productivity: Focus on optimizing cloud infrastructure and automation to reduce release times and improve efficiency.
- Incident Management: Lead incident resolution efforts, conduct post-mortems, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Requirements
- 10+ years in software development, with 5+ years in cloud infrastructure and DevOps.
- Expertise in multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud services (compute, networking, storage, databases).
- Extensive experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK) and cloud platforms (AWS EC2, Lambda, S3, VPC, RDS).
- Proficient in coding (Python, Go, Java, Bash) and building cloud-native architectures focused on scalability, reliability, and security.
- Strong experience with log server architectures, centralized logging systems, and observability tools (ELK, Splunk).
- Skilled in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI) to optimize release speed.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud security (IAM, encryption, VPN, WAF) and compliance frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Proven leadership in mentoring engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills for presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
