About the Role

NextWave are working with a leading global offshore wind developer who are looking to hire an experienced Project Development Director to lead the origination and execution of new projects in the US market.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate attractive M&A transactions in Offshore Wind across the USA
  • Lead screening and execution preparation
  • Assess the impact of different M&A transactions on the Americas portfolio and develop a strategic rationale in cooperation within the different business units.
  • Support and/or lead the execution of M&A transactions being responsible for M&A valuation quality, due diligence coordination and negotiation of transaction documents
  • Lead cross-functional project teams and workstreams, including financial analysts, technical experts, business area representatives, legal counsel, tax and financial advisors.
  • Support the development of integration and handover plans to the asset owner organization resulting from M&A transactions
  • Prepare decision memos and present at Executive Committee level.
  • Build on and expand existing network across investment banks, industry peers, financial investors and consultants
  • Contribute to structurally build M&A capabilities across the Americas Business Development and Commercial team

Requirements:

  • MBA / MSc in Finance or Economics
  • Proven project leadership experience in renewable energy Business Development, M&A, Corporate Finance
  • Prior experience in offshore wind would be preferable
  • Strong financial modelling and technical skills in Excel
  • Business-oriented mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas and recognize commercial opportunities
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in similar positions
