About the role
Our client is a high growth consultancy company, specializing in providing innovative cloud and software solutions to government agencies. As they are continuing to grow, they are seeking a skilled and experienced Fullstack Tech Lead to join the current dynamic team.
As a Tech Lead, you will assume a pivotal role in guiding a team of talented software engineers in the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software products. Beyond your immediate team, collaboration with other Tech Leads and cross-functional groups, including Product Managers, Designers, and QA Engineers, is crucial to shape and execute the technical vision of our projects.
Roles and responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of software engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to define project scope, technical requirements, and achievable timelines.
- Work closely with designers and developers to ensure the seamless integration of user interfaces and back-end functionality.
- Champion Agile methodologies, ensuring adherence to Scrum or Kanban practices, including regular stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
- Drive the decision-making process related to technology, advocating for best practices, code quality, and scalability.
- Implement established software engineering practices like pair programming, code reviews, and test-driven development to uphold high coding standards, identify potential issues, and propose enhancements.
- Strike a balance between hands-on coding and leadership responsibilities, tackling technical challenges when necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential obstacles, risks, and mitigation strategies, ensuring the successful delivery of projects.
- Stay abreast of the latest technology trends, tools, and frameworks, and proactively recommend improvements to existing systems.
- Promote a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation and supporting creative problem-solving approaches.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience, with at least 1 year of team management preferred.
- Proficiency in modern web application technologies, including React, Typescript (frontend), Node.js (backend), Postgresql (backend), and TypeORM (backend).
- Familiarity with Next.js and RoR (Ruby on Rails) is a plus.
- Experience in Agile processes and practices (Scrum, Extreme Programming).
- Knowledge of continuous integration/continuous deployment, Docker/container technology, Kubernetes, along with docker and container management.
- Familiarity with Postgresql, cloud/PaaS platforms such as AWS, Heroku, and OpenShift, and the Serverless Framework would be advantageous.
