About the Role

NextWave are working with a leading alternative fuels developer who are looking to hire an experienced Head of Engineering as they grow their organisation and asset base in the USA.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying valuable assets and strategic locations.
  • Evaluating the technical appeal and structural integrity of assets.
  • Developing initial engineering concepts that align with client specifications.
  • Overseeing preliminary engineering, FEED processes, and related cost assessments.
  • Creating engineering designs, project timelines, and staffing plans for execution.
  • Developing permitting strategies and timelines.
  • Assisting with M&A transactions by conducting technical due diligence.
  • Managing end-to-end construction projects, including detailed design, procurement, construction, commissioning, startup, scheduling, budget tracking, and risk management.
  • Supervising engineering and construction contractors to ensure project success.
  • Adhering to the company's HSSE standards.
  • Selecting and engaging engineering and construction firms in accordance with procurement guidelines.
  • Drafting and defining technical RFQs and evaluating contractor proposals.
  • Collaborating with the Global Center of Excellence (COE) to assess new technologies.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering
  • Prior experience in the alternative fuels sector would be highly preferable
  • A minimum of 15 years' experience in the transportation and storage of fuels
  • Familiarity with logistics assets in the US
  • Eligibility to work in the US
