About the Role

NextWave are working with a leading renewable energy developer who are looking to hire an experienced Project Development Director to lead the development of a key offshore wind portfolio they are working on in California.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Project development and maturation of opportunities for offshore wind projects
  • Lead project permitting process required during the project development phase
  • Devise and support the development of market entry strategies and market development, including coordinating input/engagement with state and local policymakers and regulators to mature new market opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential development, supply chain, port infrastructure, and/or transmission partners in the offshore wind industry
  • Manage project development and support stakeholder relations including state and local officials, regulators, utilities, market operators, and community leaders, for offshore wind policy development
  • Coordinate internal workstreams with engineering, technical, outreach, permitting, finance, legal, EPC, and grid teams to support analysis as needed to ensure the effective development of proposals and future projects
  • Monitor, track, and analyze offshore wind competitive market intelligence and communicate periodically to key internal stakeholders

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in a relevant field
  • Prior experience in offshore wind would be preferable
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience in the West Coast of the US
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in similar positions
  • Eligibility to work in the US
