NextWave Partners is working with a leading private equity fund who is a blended finance fund manager dedicated to securing a sustainable future by investing in global emerging markets. They have a long-term vision to structure cutting-edge financing facilities around thematic areas of climate change mitigation and adaptation, including renewable energy, water and oceans, sustainable land use, and sustainable cities

They are seeking to recruit a Finance Manager to strengthen their Asia investment team. This role will be based in the Philippines.

Overview:

  • We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join our Project Company in the Philippines. The Finance Manager will be responsible for overseeing financial operations, managing tax and other compliance requirements, audits and ensuring effective financial management during the development, construction and operational stages. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial accounting skills, good knowledge of tax regulations, contract management and experience in financial management within the infrastructure sector. The candidate will also ensure reporting obligations to stakeholders (shareholders, head office, management, lenders etc.) and lenders are fulfilled, enabling the Project Company to achieve its intended impact.

Reporting and Compliance of the SPVs

  • Ensure compliance with investors' financial reporting requirements and oversee compliance to the contractual arrangements.
  • Implement and enforce company policies across all functions, ensuring they operate efficiently and meet desired outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the outsourced accounting team on financial forecasting and reporting to shareholders, lenders, and their audit teams.
  • Oversee the company's data and information management system, ensuring its integrity and effectiveness.
  • Perform any other reasonable ad-hoc tasks as requested by management.





General Financial Management and Financial Analysis

  • Work with shareholder finance teams to ensure that sufficient funds are available to meet ongoing operational and capital investment requirements.
  • Manage contracts with suppliers and service providers and ensure prompt disbursement of payments to suppliers, as well as the timely processing of salaries and benefits for the company's employees.
  • Interpret the company's financial results for Management and stakeholders, and recommend improvement activities.
  • Conduct continuous cost-efficiency analyses across all areas of the company and provide recommendations to Management for implementing changes that could enhance overall cost-effectiveness whenever feasible.
  • Communicate financial information and tax implications effectively to senior management, project teams, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Be responsible for managing and tracking the Project Company budgets and provide assistance where required for the preparation and maintenance of financial models

Accounting and Admin

  • Manage accounting reporting supported by an outsourced accounting company.
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, including corporate income tax, VAT/GST, and other applicable taxes.
  • Liaise with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities as needed.
  • Work with the company's auditor on year-end financial reporting, ensuring that the reporting aligns with both the investors' and local regulations.
  • Ensure that the Project Company is in compliance with all local regulations with respect to corporate, tax, financial and regulatory matters.
  • Support administrative planning, ensuring that company policies are implemented and maintained.
  • Perform other reasonable administrative tasks as required by the business and Management's requests.



Qualifications:

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5 - 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the infrastructure/construction industry
  • Preference will be given to candidates with CFA or CPA designations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills.
  • Ability to apply accounting and tax knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively influence people at all levels within and outside the organisation, and to work in a culturally diverse setting.
  • Ability to create and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders, not only the internal team.
  • Proven ability to develop and translate strategies into implementable actions.
  • Proven track record of successfully establishing operational objectives and determining how to utilise resources to best meet schedules and goals, including leading multi-disciplined teams.
  • Ability to travel within or outside the Philippines.
