About the role
We are partnering with a fast-growing climate tech start-up, backed by a leading European renewable energy MNC, specializing in smart energy management solutions. They are seeking a DevOps Engineer for their Kuala Lumpur team to design, implement, and maintain secure cloud and IoT solutions, collaborating with development, operations, and security teams to integrate best practices throughout the development lifecycle.
Roles and responsibilities
1. DevOps Implementation:
- Design, implement, and manage DevOps practices to streamline development, deployment, and operational workflows.
- Automate processes using tools like configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks.
- Collaborate with development teams to embed best practices into software design, coding, testing, and deployment.
2. Incident Response & Threat Detection:
- Develop and maintain incident response plans and playbooks to efficiently detect, respond to, and recover from security incidents.
- Monitor cloud environments and IoT networks for unauthorized access, malicious activity, and security breaches using SIEM tools and threat intelligence.
- Investigate security incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement measures to prevent recurrence and enhance security.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in DevOps, software development, or system administration.
- Proficiency in cloud platforms like AWS and Google Cloud.
- Strong scripting and programming skills (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Bash) for automation and tool creation.
- Experience deploying and managing SDLC automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible, Git/Bitbucket, Robot Framework).
- Expertise in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex issues and prioritize effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, enabling collaboration with cross-functional teams and the ability to explain security concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
