About the role

Our client is a global leader in creative video technology innovation and manufacturing. The company specializes in developing professional cameras, advanced video editing, colour grading, and visual effects software, production switchers, broadcast converters, and a diverse range of products tailored for the feature film, post-production, and broadcast industries. We are seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join the company to test a widely-used professional post-production software application.


Roles and responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a suite of automated tests to comprehensively evaluate all workflows supported by the application.
• Improve and sustain the existing Python scripting automation framework.
• Conduct software testing and produce detailed bug reports.
• Reproduce customer-reported issues locally with limited available information.
• Identify and accurately log specific bugs from sometimes unclear reports.

Requirements

• BA/BS in Computer Engineering or a related field.
• Understanding of software testing concepts and experience with full product life cycles.
• Strong problem-solving, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Experience in Quality Assurance of software applications is an advantage.
• Experience with Python or other scripting languages.
• Experience in white box testing and a good knowledge of programming is a plus.
• Experience with automation on multiple operating systems (Mac, Windows, and Linux) is a plus.
• Experience in performance testing and its automation.
• Familiarity with UI automation tools like Squish is beneficial.
• Familiarity with various video/audio file formats and codecs.
• Understanding of the workflows and processes in the post-production industry.
