About the Role

NextWave are working with a global renewable energy developer who are looking to hire an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to work on the development and delivery of several solar and BESS projects they have across the USA..

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of evaluating grid capacity and impact, strategize optimal interconnection plans, manage the application process for grid access, engage in technical discussions with the system operator, and oversee finalization of the interconnection agreement.
  • Interpret and apply national grid codes, utility requirements, and regulatory frameworks; guide electrical consultants on preliminary system designs, participate in technical evaluations, and oversee design validation.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors and equipment suppliers to solicit proposals, conduct technical and commercial assessments, lead supplier selection, and contribute to contract negotiations.
  • Provide technical input to support cross-functional teams during due diligence processes-including commercial, financial, regulatory, and technical aspects-with a focus on engineering and construction risks.
  • Assist in building project schedules, identifying critical paths, and defining key milestones from an engineering and construction execution perspective.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of three years' experience in electrical engineering roles related to project development.
  • Solid understanding of utility requirements, interconnection standards, and regulatory frameworks,
  • Proficient in English communication due to interfacing responsibilities
  • Strong collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely and effectively within cross-functional teams
  • Holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • Right to work in the USA
